Life as an outdoorsman was ingrained in Dan's early years as a scout. He began climbing in the late 90's and has been fortunate to experience the unique diversity of vertical landscapes throughout the country. He passionately shares this experience in the sport with many as a climbing instructor and photographer, and is as psyched as ever, continuing to learn and educate, explore new places, and push his personal limits on the sharp end, whether it be multi-pitch rock, or his favorite, waterfall ice. In addition to the AAC, Dan is an active member and volunteer with the Access Fund on trail work projects in the region.
Andrew (Drew) Deming has been an active member within the Philadelphia climbing community since 2001 when he was first exposed to rock climbing at the University of Pennsylvania. Since then Andrew has worked at local climbing gyms, directed Drexel University’s climbing program for five years, actively participates within the American Mountain Guide Association as a certified guide, and passionately shares his love for climbing and the great outdoors with the local community. Andrew’s experiences around climbing have influenced him positively and motivate him to introduce and support others who are seeking change in their lives. The only thing more important for Andrew than spending time with friends chasing the next big adventure is spending time with his loving partner Jillian and two sons Owen and Calvin.

Matt is a Philly native who got into climbing when he moved back to Philadelphia after college. A few months after his first outdoor lead at Safe Harbor, the startup Matt worked for got bought by a Seattle based tech company and he got shipped out that way as part of the deal. In the pacific north west his climbing hobby turned into a full on obsession and he would regularly drive the 6 hours each way to get outside at Oregon’s Smith Rock on the weekends. Matt has since returned back to Philly after a year abroad of traveling and climbing across 5 continents. He’s currently nursing a pair of bum elbows and building out what he hopes to be a sweet camper van.

Emily grew up as a mover and a shaker, spending many years building grit as a modern dancer in NYC. Since then, she has discovered her passion for all things outdoors and resolved to spend as much time as possible sleeping under the stars. An epic road trip to 24 national parks in 2017 was Emily's first time learning the ropes on rock outside. Still a self-designated "newbie", she is in it to learn and experience as much of the climbing world as possible with a zest for life and love of laughing at herself.
